Why did you agree to serve on the Lucille Rader Education Foundation Board?

My friend, former colleague, and fellow Board Member, Mary Anne Hedrick, asked me to consider serving on the board. A number of years ago, I met Lucille Rader at La Reina when she was launching her scholarship. Impressed by her desire to help young women and by her commitment to athletic and scholastic excellence, I encouraged my students who met the criteria to apply. As a former English teacher, I was also pleased that students had to write an essay and be interviewed. Since then, a number of our students have won this scholarship. Each student selected has been an exemplary woman of character and faith. It is an honor to be part of this Board and to be able to help young women meet their academic dreams.
